Student groups

Undergraduates of Political Science (UPS)

This student-run organization operates year-round. Join them for events like games nights, mixers, course planning and career workshops, debates and discussions.

Membership is open to all students taking at least one Political Science course throughout the year. Find them on Facebook or Instagram

Model United Nations Club (MUN)

Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations. Join them to learn about the international community and how the member states of the world interact.

In MUN, students take on the role of a diplomat, and are expected to represent their nation's foreign policy on a variety of international issues. During the simulations, students are expected to research and promote their nation’s foreign policy to reach consensus on resolutions.

MUN has participated in conferences like UBCMUN (Vancouver), NWMUN (Seattle) and NMUN (New York). They host a conference at UVic for local high school students, known as VICMUN.

On Politics

On Politics is the undergraduate research journal for Political Science. The journal publishes high-quality academic writing from many theoretical perspectives and sub-fields within the discipline of political science. On Politics publishes one issue a year. Learn about submissions
