NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Gov. Bill Lee has signed a bill that would put more nurses in Tennessee schools.
The bill, HB 2158, reduces the number of students for which a public school nurse is considered sufficient to provide services.
That number drops from 3,000 to 750 for the Tennessee public school nurse program.
“As introduced, reduces, from 3,000 to 750, the number of students for which one public school nurse is considered sufficient to adequately provide services for purposes of the Tennessee public school nurse program,” the bill reads.
It was signed by Lee on Friday morning.
