NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Two First Alert Weather Days have been issued for Tuesday and Wednesday for the possibility of strong-to-severe storms.

The unsettled weather pattern continues today and through most of next week. Expect off and on showers and storms again today-- some in the afternoon, but most in the evening. High temperatures will be in the mid-80s this afternoon. While we will see plenty of dry times today, just like yesterday, some pop-up showers could be intense at times. Lows fall to the 60s overnight.
Plan on a wet morning commute Monday as rain showers and storms will continue throughout most of the day. Scattered rain will last most of the day with highs temperatures a little cooler in the upper 70s to around 80º.
Tuesday and Wednesday are First Alert Weather Days. It’s still a little early in the forecast, but this is when instability looks to be greatest, especially in the afternoon and evening. If we were to experience any severe storms this week, it would likely be those two days. As of now, the greatest threats appear to be damaging wind gusts, large hail, and heavy rain. On Wednesday, there is a more elevated tornado threat. Meanwhile, temperatures will remain above average in the mid-80s.

Rain showers and storms continue through Thursday as a strong cold front makes its way through the Mid State. Most of the rain should clear out by Friday morning, but it will leave behind much cooler temperatures heading into the weekend. Highs will only reach the upper 60s to low 70s with lows in the upper 40s to low 50s.
