WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - Friday marks the 70th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education. The Supreme Court decision ruled the racial segregation of public schools unconstitutional, but integration didn’t happen overnight.
Deneen Richmond faced protesters and prejudice at school in the 1970s. Now the president of a local hospital, she’s taking those experiences and pushing back in a positive way: encouraging students sitting where she once sat.
