TSU President gifts graduates $50

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Retiring Tennessee State University President Dr. Glenda Glover provided Saturday’s graduates a surprise.

Glover, who is retiring June 30, gifted each graduating student $50, which was attached to their seats during the commencement ceremony inside Hale Stadium.

Glover, who was the keynote speaker, told the graduates to stay grounded in faith and that they could match and surpass the talent of anyone in any field.

In her closing remarks, she had a final surprise for the class of 2024. The president had left $50 under their seats.
