HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Three weeks have passed since the disappearance of missing 15-year-old, Sebastian Rogers.

The autistic teenager hasn’t been seen since Feb. 26.

Sumner County Commissioner Don Schmit is urging the community to keep believing in a positive outcome and not lose hope. He’s pledged to post about Sebastian each day on Facebook.

“Do not lose hope, do not let your mind steer you to the worst-case scenario,” Schmit said. “We don’t know where this kid is. A lot of people, their first knee-jerk reaction is to think the worst case, stay focused.”

After more than 2,000 miles were searched in the days after Sebastian’s disappearance, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said most of their work to locate Sebastian is being done out of the public view. Investigators are following leads and the family is cooperating, according to the TBI.

Multiple prayer vigils have been held this month, including one last night in Clarksville.

“It’s powerful, there were groups of people who would gather around and pray for his safety, it just is great to see the community come together,” Schmit said. “What I like is we can disagree on issues, and that happens, but one thing we can all agree on is this is a child. We all love our kids, no one can dispute that.”

TBI reported that there are few clues at this stage to indicate Sebastian’s whereabouts. There is nothing to suggest foul play may or may not be involved.
